Subject to our production log, we will occasionally fit new barrels to Winchester 1885 high wall and low wall actions (NOT Browning or Miroku rifles, which are not compatible with original Winchester specifications).  We need to have your action in the shop and the process typically takes 12 - 16 weeks.  Except for extractors we do not have parts for these rifles so you action will need to be in good working order. Included are:

  • fitting/headspace to your action
  • chamber and slug bore, our standard barrel markings
  • drill and tap for scope bases, cut front sight slot
  • cut dovetails for flat spring and forearm lug
  • polish and standard matte blue
  • forearms are straight-grained American walnut with ebony insert unless you request something different.

    • barrel size (Winchester sizes are similar to our standard contours)

    Use the box above for special instructions related to front sight slot (3/8" is standard), scope base drill/tap (Unertl is standard), barrel rate of twist, etc. We will contact you to confirm timing and detailed specifications for the barrel.
