Checkering typical of Stevens-Pope rifles, similar to the standard checkering except 26 lines per inch and the bottom of the grip is checkered 32 lines per inch. Point-pattern on the grip and forearm. If the forearm has a palm rest, the checkering will outline the palm rest base. Checkering must be done after the wood is finished. Pricing is the same whether it is a new rifle or an original stock. We typically finish checkering with one or two coats of oil, but Stevens would often stain the checkering dark and we can do this on request.
